Hard disk drive have 4 connectors for
power supply. 2pins in the middel are
for ground and the other two are for 5V
DC and 12V DC. The red one is for 5V and
the yellow one is for 12V. You can easily
check power supplying sytem by spindle
motor. If you can hear spindle motor spinning
sound, there is no problem on power supplying
system.

on connection, contract resistance,
electronic noise and misconnection cause
malfunctioning of hard disk drive.
Jumpper setting varies from hard disk
to hard disk, and you should also consider
comparability of different hard disk drive
1) Please check if your drives are recognized
in BIOS setup utility by using auto dection.
2) Please check your drives are detected
by auction detection.
3) If your drives are recognized in
Bios setup utility, it shows that your
drive is ready and there is less possibility
of physical errors, but bad sectors
in disk would not be found by Bios setup
utility
You can find out whether spindle motor
spins by touching top cover or listening
to the noise after power is supplied.
If spindle motor do not runs or their
is a fluctuation, it shows that hard disk
drive have a problem.
Non working
of spindle motor would be cause by no
electricity supply, PCBA bad, spindle
motor bad, sticking of magenetic head
and disk.
If you can hear grinding or clicking
sound after the power supply it shows
disk is scratched or breaking down of
head slider. If you can hear clicking
or fluctuation sound, it notify to you
that spindle motors run but cannot get
important data for operation, and it
cause retrying action. This phenomenon
is so called "not ready"
1) If spindle motor speed reach to a certain
stage magnetic head would be moved from
landing zone to data zone and start recalibration,
This activity is called ready.And you
can simply detect by touching finger on
the drive(Please do not put your finger
on the surface of PCBS
2) If your
drive have successfully finished these
performance, it shows commnunication
between PCB and system is normal. but
it still have a possibility of bad sectors.

The Special when the case which does not
have a hard disk inspection Software the

a condition with the process which it
uses daily.
1) Partition => Fdisk.exe
2) Format => Format c:/s/v
3) ScanDisk , NDD etc
4) The surface condition will be defective
from up Test result or the case which
will have Bad Sector repairs and when
the thing authorization which it will
use that way it is decided use the thing
authorization which it will do.
